Working with the styling team at Central St Martins was a great experience. The model Bethan Maye from Models1 was a really fun girl, a delight to work with. She has a naturally androgynous look but we accentuated her eyebrows and gave her just a touch of smoke on her eyes. The red lips had an orange tone to flash a hint of young glam to the look. I used my favourite Nars matte velvet lip pencil in ‘Red Square’ to achieve this. The students wanted Bethan’s freckles to show through her makeup so I used a light cover of MAC face & body foundation. When a model has fair skin with lots of freckles, it is important not to go too light with the foundation but to try and find a tone slightly warmer that sits well in between the two colours. It was a long but fun day, we went through 15 looks and it was great to see the students showcase their talent.
